Laundry Room 6/30/22

I am sending this to all of you, so please don't feel like you are being singled out and yelled at. I'm not mad, I'm just taking my house back.

I cleaned and organized the laundry supplies on top of the dryer. There is absolutely no reason why, after using anything in the box, you cannot put it back. There is absolutely no reason why you cannot put the lid back on the laundry detergent. There is absolutely no reason why there should be stray dryer sheets or trash on top of the dryer. There is absolutely no reason why you can't empty the trash can beside the dryer when it is full and put a new trash bag in (they are in the box.) If you somehow cannot handle this, I will start keeping the laundry supplies in my bedroom and you will have to earn detergent and dryer sheets by doing chores.

The top of the washing machine is clear. I like it clear. It likes being clear. It will be a handy place to fold things and then immediately put them away. It is NOT a place to set cases of water, or backpacks, or loads of laundry that someone left in the dryer, or anything else. Leave stuff there at your own peril. ☠️

This hamper is for kitchen towels & rags. Not socks left lying about. Not the mountains of Clicklist bags that I have got to find something to do with. If you need a kitchen towel and find that there are none, do the loving, neighborly thing and wash what's in the hamper. And then dry it. And then fold it. And then put it away. Thank you.

Change of plans! The black hamper is now for towels and the white hamper is for Clicklist bags.

For now, the shelf above the washer and dryer will have paper products on the left and laundry stuff on the right. Please open the toilet paper and paper towel bags neatly, with a bladed instrument like scissors. We have opposable thumbs and do not have to rip things apart like gorillas.

Nothing should go in the alcove behind the door except for the ironing board and the vacuum cleaner (and the leashes on the hook.) The vacuum cleaner should not be left in anyone's bedroom, or in a hallway, or in Daddy's room, or in the dining room. When you use it, put it back when you are finished. You probably won't have much occasion to use the ironing board, but if you do, after you move the vacuum to get the ironing board out and then *put the vacuum back until you are replacing the ironing board.*
